2009 CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

1. All Entries must have been created by the Exhibitor unaided, must not breach any copyright, completed within the past 2 years and not have previously won a prize in an Exhibition.

2. An Entry Fee is to be paid for EACH work entered.
COMPLETED ENTRY FORMS & FEES MUST BE RECEIVED BY
NO LATER THAN (LAST MAIL) MONDAY 3rd AUGUST, 2009

  • Payment of fees should be by Cheque (payable to Gold Coast Show Society Inc.), Money Order or Postal Note
  • Entry fees will be accepted at Show Office, Parklands Showgrounds, Cnr Smith Street & Parklands Drive Southport – Monday to Friday between hours of 9 am and 3 pm - Enquiries phone (07) 5591 3422
  • See Class notes for appropriate entry fees and class requirements.

3. All painting classes 1 to 9 MUST have the ARTISTS NAME, TITLE, CLASS, SALE PRICE clearly marked on the back and MUST be for sale - no NFS will be accepted and if submitted will not be hung.

4. All exhibits, Classes 10 to 32 MUST have the ARTISTS NAME, TITLE, CLASS, SALEPRICE or 'NFS' (not for sale) clearly marked on the back.


5. SIZE – Classes 1 – 8 inclusive:- All works must be no larger than 100cm x 100cm Paintings can be any shape providing works including Diptych, Triptyce DO NOT EXCEED a total perimeter of 4 meters. Note other size requirements per class instructions.

  • Paintings and Drawings in ALL CLASSES shall be suitably framed. A stretched canvas is considered framed. ALL PAINTINGS MUST BE READY FOR HANGING WITH WIRE OR CORD SUITABLY ATTACHED - NO SMALL HOOKS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
  • Paintings and Drawings that do not meet the size criteria will not be hung.
  • No “GICLEE” prints OR computer enhanced work permitted in painting classes.
  • Photographs in ALL CLASSES- for details regarding size etc. see Photography Section.

6. The Show Society will exercise all reasonable care with entries submitted but WILL NOT be responsible for loss and/or
damage. Competitors are responsible for maintaining their own insurance cover.

7. The Judges will see all entries but not all Entries will necessarily be hung. Selected entries will be shown at the Visual Arts
Section on Show days.

8. Judges decision will be final. No correspondence will be entered into.

9. PRIZE MONEY: Third prize will only be awarded if there are more than 4 entries

10. Stewards have the power to move any entry submitted in the wrong class.

11. The Visual Arts Committee will hang all works submitted by the artists.

12. 20% Commission will be charged on any work sold during the Exhibition.

10. The Show Society has the right to permit the Media to reproduce any work for promotional purposes.

11. The Visual Arts Committee reserves the right to reject or withdraw any exhibit.
